Keto means very few carbs and lots of fat. Our keto recipes have no more than 10 g net carbs per serving and get at least 50 % of their calories from fat – from olive oil, coconut, avocado or butter – with a moderate amount of protein. Sugar, grains and potatoes are left out.

Keto day to day: getting started

Start simple

Plan your first week around 4–5 simple basic recipes instead of searching for new ones every day. Don't be shy with salt, drink enough and cook with stock, avocado, spinach and nuts. If you have a medical condition, talk to your GP or a dietitian.

Spot hidden carbs

Ready-made sauces, dressings, processed meats with added starch and ‘light’ products often bring carbs you don't notice – a single serving of sauce can easily contain 5–15 g of sugar. Cooking from scratch is the most reliable way to keep track. Our keto recipes show the net carbs per serving right on the page.

Fat quality before quantity

Our fat comes from extra virgin olive oil, butter and ghee, coconut oil, avocado, nuts and oily fish – never seed oils. For protein: enough, not anxiously little. The recipes already have the balance worked out.

Frequently asked questions

How many carbs do the recipes have?

No more than 10 g net carbs per serving and at least 50 % of calories from fat. The exact values are on every recipe, so you can plan your daily budget.

Which foods are off the menu on keto?

Grains, pulses, rice, potatoes, fruit (except berries), sugar in any form and most root veg. Watch out for hidden carbs in ready-made sauces too.

What do I eat on keto instead of bread and pasta?

Eggs, veg like courgette, cauliflower and broccoli, fish, meat, cheese, nuts and avocado. For bread and bakes we use almond or coconut flour. If you have a medical condition, talk to your GP or a dietitian.

What's a good keto breakfast?

Eggs any way you like (scrambled with spinach, an omelette with cheese), avocado, full-fat Greek yoghurt with nuts and a few berries, or chia porridge with coconut milk. If you're not hungry in the morning, you can simply have your first meal later.

How do I get enough veg?

Leafy greens, courgette, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and asparagus contain few carbs and fit almost anywhere. Many recipes here already include a big portion.
