Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: air fryer · frying pan · saucepan · chopping board · knife · grater

  1. Separate the gnocchi from the packet and quarter the mushrooms. Don't pre-cook the gnocchi.
  2. Toss the gnocchi and mushrooms with the olive oil and cook at 200 °C for 14 to 16 minutes without preheating. Shake the basket every 5 minutes until the gnocchi are golden brown all over.
  3. Melt the butter in a small frying pan, add the sage leaves and the lightly crushed garlic and let them crisp up.
  4. Toss the hot gnocchi and mushrooms in the sage butter and season with pepper.
  5. Serve everything on the rocket and grate the hard cheese over the top.

Good to know

Gnocchi from the chiller cabinet turn as crisp as fried potatoes on the outside in the air fryer and stay soft inside. No water to boil, no sticky pan.

Swaps

Gnocchi → potato finger noodles (same cooking time). Mushrooms → king oyster mushrooms (firmer). Butter → olive oil (dairy-free if you leave out the hard cheese). Rocket → baby spinach.

Cooking tips

Fill the basket no more than halfway, otherwise the gnocchi won't crisp up all over. The sage is ready when it stops sizzling in the butter.

Storage

Best fresh; leftovers keep for a day in the fridge and crisp up again in the air fryer.

Allergens

Contains gluten and milk; suitable for children and fine in pregnancy.
