Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife · sieve

  1. Deseed the pomegranate and wash the raspberries gently.
  2. Put the pomegranate seeds in a blender with the raspberries and lemon juice and blend until fine.
  3. Press the juice through a fine sieve if you like it smoother. That way the pips and coarse bits of fruit stay behind.
  4. Taste the juice and thin it with a little water if needed.
  5. Pour the juice into a glass and drink it straight away.

Good to know

Sometimes all you need is a glass that tastes simply bright and fresh. This juice is fruity, slightly tart and pleasantly straightforward.

Swaps

Raspberries → strawberries (milder in flavour, also with vitamin C). Pomegranate → red grapes (juicier, also with polyphenols). Lemon juice → lime juice (just as fresh, a little more aromatic). Raspberries → blackberries (stronger flavour, with fibre and polyphenols).

Allergens

The recipe is naturally free from the major allergens, although pomegranate and berries can occasionally cause intolerances. For children and in pregnancy it's fine in normal amounts – well washed and freshly made.
