Ingredients
200 g pineapple
1 unwaxed orange
2 carrots
150 ml water
1 tsp turmeric
1 pinch of pepper
Method
You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife
Peel the pineapple, remove the hard core and cut the flesh into pieces. Squeeze the orange and set the juice aside.
Wash the carrots thoroughly and slice them. That makes everything easier to blend finely.
Put the pineapple, orange juice, carrots, turmeric and pepper in the blender jug. Add the water.
Blend everything until the smoothie is even and creamy. If you like it smoother, blend a little longer.
Check the consistency and stir in a small splash of water if needed. That makes the smoothie a little thinner.
Pour the vegan pineapple and turmeric smoothie into glasses and serve straight away. It tastes especially fresh well chilled.
Good to know
Fruity, slightly earthy and pleasantly fresh. This smoothie is quick to make and tastes nicely balanced.
Swaps
Orange → mandarin (a little milder, also contains vitamin C). Water → coconut water (more potassium, slightly sweet). Pineapple → papaya (milder in flavour, also contains fibre).
Allergens
The recipe is free from the major allergens. Orange and pineapple can taste quite sharp if you have a sensitive stomach, and for children and during pregnancy it's usually fine in normal kitchen amounts.
