Wash the pears and parsley. Cut the pears into pieces, removing only hard or damaged bits.
Thinly peel the ginger with a spoon or knife. Peel the lime so that hardly any bitter pith remains.
Pull off any thick parsley stalks if needed. Feed the pears, ginger, lime and parsley into the juicer bit by bit.
Juice everything slowly and give the juice a quick stir.
Pour the juice through a sieve if you like it smoother.
Serve the juice well chilled in a glass.
Good to know
Gently sweet, fresh and lightly spicy. A juice like this is quick to make and tastes pleasantly fresh rather than overpowering.
Swaps
Pear → apple (a little more pectin) | lime → lemon (similarly fresh, a bit more acidic) | parsley → coriander (also provides vitamin K) | ginger → fresh turmeric (earthier flavour and a bright yellow colour)
Allergens
The recipe is free from the most common allergens, but the heat of the ginger and the acidity can be quite strong for children. During pregnancy the ingredients are usually unremarkable in normal kitchen amounts; if you're unsure, check with your doctor.
