Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: chopping board · knife

  1. Make a slight lengthways cut in the Medjool dates and carefully remove the stones.
  2. Fill each date with just under a teaspoon of peanut butter and press two to three roasted peanuts into it.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of hot water until it's liquid and glossy.
  4. Dip the filled dates one at a time into the warm chocolate until they're fully coated, and place them on baking paper.
  5. Sprinkle over the coarse sea salt and chill the dates for 20 minutes until the chocolate has set.

Good to know

A proper little treat. These bites combine fruity sweetness, nutty crunch and a salty caramel flavour.

Swaps

Peanut butter → almond butter (for a slightly milder, more refined note, use almond butter and roasted almonds for crunch).

Cooking tips

Don't let the chocolate get too hot when melting, otherwise it turns dull and forms grey streaks on the surface.

Storage

Keep the little snacks in an airtight container in the fridge. That way the chocolate coating stays nice and firm.

Allergens

Contains peanuts. Completely gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan.
