Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife

  1. Wash the kale thoroughly, remove the tough stalks and roughly tear the leaves.
  2. Peel the mango and cut the flesh away from the stone. Peel the banana and break it into pieces.
  3. Put the kale, mango, banana, oat milk, chia seeds, ginger and cinnamon into the blender.
  4. Blend finely until the smoothie is creamy and there are no more large pieces of kale.
  5. If it's too thick, blend in a little more oat milk until the consistency suits you.
  6. Pour straight into a glass and serve fresh.

Good to know

When mornings need to be simple, this smoothie is a good choice. Fruity, creamy and with a mild green note. It's in your glass in just a few minutes.

Swaps

Oat milk → almond milk (usually a little thinner and nuttier); mango → pineapple (also provides vitamin C and a fresh tartness); banana → avocado (less fruit sugar, but a creamier texture and more monounsaturated fatty acids); chia seeds → ground linseed (similar fibre content, with alpha-linolenic acid).

Allergens

The smoothie is naturally vegan. Oat milk contains gluten unless it's certified gluten-free. For children, blend it mild and use ginger sparingly. During pregnancy the ingredients are generally unremarkable in normal kitchen amounts. Contains: gluten (oats).
