Good to know
A snack that's very hard to stop eating. Dates and nut butter melt together into an incredibly dense caramel layer.
Swaps
Peanut butter → tahini (for a Middle Eastern note, use dark tahini, which goes brilliantly with chocolate).
Cooking tips
Be sure to use soft Medjool dates. Ordinary, firmer dates can't be pressed flat into an even base.
Storage
Always store the bark pieces in a tin in the freezer, as they soften very quickly at room temperature.
