Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: stick blender · chopping board · knife · sieve

  1. Core the apple and cut it into thick wedges, skin on.
  2. Peel the kiwis and quarter the flesh.
  3. Put the fruit, water and the picked basil leaves in the blender jug.
  4. Blend everything and press the mixture firmly through a coarse metal sieve.
  5. Catch the juice in a glass and serve it with 2 ice cubes.

Good to know

Herbs in a juice take the whole flavour to a completely new level. The basil goes really well with the sharp acidity of the kiwi.

Swaps

Basil → mint (if basil is too strong for you in the morning, fresh mint gives a much cooler flavour).

Cooking tips

The softer the kiwi, the sweeter the juice. Leave hard kiwis next to an apple for a few days so they ripen quickly.

Storage

The apple and kiwi mix tends to separate in the glass. Stir it briskly with a spoon just before drinking.

Allergens

Completely gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan. Contains none of the major allergens.
