Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: high-speed blender · chopping board · knife · sieve

  1. Wash the carrots, apples and ginger thoroughly. Cut the carrots and apples into rough pieces and chop the ginger small, depending on how much heat you want.
  2. Core the apples and put all the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Add a small splash of water so everything blends more easily.
  3. Blend the mixture until the juice is as smooth as possible. For a thinner consistency, work in a little more water if needed.
  4. If you want a finer juice, press the blended mixture through a fine sieve or a cloth. That makes it clearer and milder.
  5. Taste briefly: more ginger brings noticeably more heat, more apple makes the juice rounder and sweeter.

Good to know

A juice like this feels wonderfully simple. Fresh, slightly spicy and naturally sweet – just right for a fresh start to the day.

Swaps

Apple → pear (similarly mild) | Ginger → fresh turmeric (also earthy and aromatic) | Carrot → orange (more vitamin C, much fresher flavour) | Apple → beetroot (earthier, with natural folate)

Allergens

The recipe is naturally vegan and free from the most common allergens. Ginger can quickly be too hot for small children, and during pregnancy normal kitchen amounts are usually fine – if you're unsure, check with your doctor or midwife.
