Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife · sieve

  1. Peel the mango, cut the flesh off the stone and roughly dice it.
  2. Squeeze the oranges and catch the juice.
  3. Halve the passion fruit and scoop out the pulp with a spoon.
  4. Put the mango, orange juice, water and some of the passion fruit pulp in a blender and blend until smooth.
  5. If you prefer the juice smoother, push it through a sieve. That holds back the seeds and coarser fibres.
  6. Pour into glasses and add the rest of the passion fruit pulp on top. Serve well chilled straight away.

Good to know

Tastes like a holiday in a glass. Sweet, fresh and pleasantly tangy – just right when you want something light and fruity.

Swaps

Mango → papaya (milder flavour, also with vitamin C) | Passion fruit → kiwi (fresh acidity, plus vitamin C and fibre) | Juicing oranges → blood oranges (similar nutrition, a little more bitter) | Water → coconut water (contains potassium)

Allergens

Naturally free from milk, egg and gluten. For small children it's best served finely sieved, and in pregnancy the ingredients are common and fine as long as the fruit is well washed and prepared fresh.
