  3. Melt the dark chocolate gently in a bowl over simmering water until smooth and runny.
  4. Drizzle the chocolate over the stuffed dates and sprinkle straight away with the chopped peanuts and sea salt flakes.
  5. Chill the dates until the chocolate has set.
  6. Serve the stuffed Medjool dates lightly chilled as a snack or a small dessert.

Good to know

These dates taste like a little dessert but are ready in a few minutes. Soft, salty, chocolatey – exactly the kind of snack you're glad to have in the fridge.

Swaps

Peanut butter → almond butter (more vitamin E) | Dark chocolate → 100 % cocoa mass (unsweetened) | Peanuts → chopped walnuts (more omega-3 fatty acids) | Peanut butter → cashew butter (milder flavour, a little more magnesium)

Allergens

Contains peanuts and, depending on the chocolate, may contain traces of milk, tree nuts or soya. Offer to children with care because of the sweetness and sticky texture; generally fine in pregnancy with hygienic preparation.
