Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife

  1. Peel the grapefruit carefully and remove the white pith so the smoothie tastes milder.
  2. Core the apple and wash the mint leaves thoroughly.
  3. Put the grapefruit, apple, mint leaves and coconut water into the blender.
  4. Add the ice cubes and blend everything until smooth and cold.
  5. Taste and blend once more if you'd like the mint finer.
  6. Pour the grapefruit and mint smoothie into a glass and serve straight away.

Good to know

When you fancy something cool and crisp, this smoothie fits the bill. Fresh, slightly bitter and pleasantly smooth in the glass.

Swaps

Grapefruit → orange (milder in flavour, also contains vitamin C). Apple → pear (a little softer, also contains fibre). Coconut water → still water (plainer, just as refreshing). Mint → lemon balm (similarly fresh, with its own plant compounds).

Allergens

Naturally free of milk, egg, gluten and nuts. Grapefruit can interact with certain medicines – check the leaflet or ask your pharmacist. For children and in pregnancy, use fresh, well-washed ingredients.
