Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: frying pan · chopping board · knife

  1. Halve the turkey breast horizontally and beat it evenly flat between sheets of cling film. That way it rolls up neatly later.
  2. Season the turkey pieces on both sides with paprika, sea salt and black pepper. Then spread with the cream cheese.
  3. Spread the leaf spinach over the cream cheese. Roll up the turkey pieces tightly from the long side and secure with cocktail sticks.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Brown the rolls all over, then cover with a lid and keep cooking until the turkey is cooked through.
  5. Leave the rolls to rest briefly, then remove the cocktail sticks. Before slicing, check that the meat is fully cooked.
  6. To serve, halve the rolls and put them on plates while warm. A fresh salad goes well with them.

Good to know

When you need something quick, these rolls are a really good answer. Savoury, juicy and easy enough for a weeknight.

Swaps

Cream cheese → soft goat's cheese (often stronger in flavour, sometimes a little more protein); leaf spinach → chard (also provides fibre and folate); turkey breast → chicken breast (similar protein content, also lean); olive oil → ghee (stable at high heat)

Allergens

Contains milk from the cream cheese. Suits children well if mildly seasoned and the cocktail sticks are safely removed; during pregnancy it's important to cook the turkey all the way through and wash the spinach well.
