Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: chopping board · knife

  1. First, roll the citrus fruit over the worktop under the flat of your hand, pressing down a little.
  2. Halve the oranges and the grapefruit with a sharp knife.
  3. Squeeze the halves firmly on a citrus press.
  4. Dilute the juice with the water and pour it while it's fresh.

Good to know

Pure citrus. The bitterness of the grapefruit takes the edge off the orange's intense sweetness and makes the juice very fresh.

Swaps

Water → sparkling water (if you use sparkling mineral water, the dense juice turns into a fizzy, lemonade-style drink).

Cooking tips

Use an electric juicer to break up the firm fibres in the flesh properly and get more juice out.

Storage

Citrus juices keep in the fridge for up to three days, but by then they often taste noticeably more bitter.

Allergens

Fully gluten-free, lactose-free and nut-free.
