Ingredients
150 g frozen mixed berries
1 banana
100 g Greek yoghurt
30 g rolled oats
1 tbsp almond butter
1 handful of blueberries
Method
You’ll need: saucepan · blender · mixing bowl
Let the frozen mixed berries and the banana thaw briefly so they're easier to blend. If you're pregnant, or for children and older people, boil the frozen berries for 2 minutes first and let them cool, or use fresh berries.
Put the berries, banana and Greek yoghurt in a blender and blend into a thick, creamy mixture.
If the consistency gets too soft, add a few more frozen mixed berries and blend briefly again until the bowl is spoonable.
Transfer the smoothie mixture to a bowl and smooth the surface.
Scatter the oats and fresh blueberries over the top and drizzle with the almond butter.
Serve straight away while the bowl is still nice and cold and creamy.
Good to know
When mornings need to be quick, this bowl is a good solution. Creamy, cold and hearty – without much effort.
Swaps
Greek yoghurt → skyr (a little more protein); almond butter → cashew butter (milder flavour, similarly creamy); oats → fine spelt flakes (also provide fibre; contain gluten); banana → mango (fruity and sweet, also provides carbohydrates)
Allergens
Contains milk, almonds (tree nuts) and gluten (oats) unless labelled gluten-free. Usually well suited to children if the consistency is right. In pregnancy, use pasteurised yoghurt and briefly boil the frozen berries first.
