Ingredients
50 g rolled oats
200 ml almond milk
1 handful of wild blueberries
30 g protein powder
1 tsp chia seeds
1 pinch of cinnamon
Method
You’ll need: saucepan · wooden spoon
Put the oats and almond milk in a small pan and heat over a medium heat.
Turn the heat down and let the mixture swell gently until the oats are soft and creamy.
Take the pan off the hob for a moment and stir in the protein powder thoroughly so no lumps form.
Fold in the chia seeds and leave the porridge to stand for a moment until it thickens a little.
Scatter the blueberries on top and finish with 1 pinch of cinnamon over the porridge.
Serve the protein porridge warm so it stays especially creamy.
Good to know
A breakfast like this makes it easy to ease gently into the day. Warm, creamy and uncomplicated. Just the thing when mornings need to be quick.
Swaps
Almond milk → unsweetened coconut milk drink from the drinks aisle (a little more fat, so creamier). Blueberries → raspberries (more fibre). Chia seeds → ground linseed (also contains fibre).
Allergens
Depending on the protein powder, may contain milk or soya – ideally choose an unsweetened powder. For children, season mildly and pick a suitable protein powder; during pregnancy, pasteurised ingredients you've had before without problems make sense. Contains: gluten (oats), tree nuts.
