Ingredients
200 g smoked salmon
1 avocado
1 red onion
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 bunch of dill
Method
You’ll need: chopping board · knife · mixing bowl
Cut the smoked salmon into small cubes. Chop the red onion very finely.
Stone the avocado and cut into small cubes. Gently mix straight away with the lemon juice.
Mix the smoked salmon with the red onion, olive oil and a little pepper in a bowl. Finely chop the dill.
Fold the chopped dill into the salmon mixture or scatter it over at the end. Taste briefly.
Layer the avocado and salmon mixture in a ring or a glass. Press down lightly so the tartare holds its shape neatly.
To serve, garnish with a little dill and bring it to the table fresh straight away.
Good to know
When you're short on time but still want something that looks special, this tartare is just right. Creamy, salty, fresh – without much effort.
Swaps
Smoked salmon → sushi-grade fresh salmon (less salt) | Olive oil → avocado oil (milder flavour, mainly monounsaturated fatty acids) | Red onion → shallot (a little milder) | Dill → chives (fresh herby note, also with plant compounds)
Allergens
Contains fish. For children, only a mildly seasoned version makes sense. During pregnancy smoked salmon is risky because of possible bacteria (listeria) – better to make it with fully cooked salmon then.
