Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: mixing bowl

  1. Put the peanut butter and hemp protein in a bowl and mix them together thoroughly.
  2. Gradually work in the water until you have a firm mixture you can shape. Knead it briefly with your hands.
  3. Grind the almonds coarsely so they still have some texture.
  4. Shape the mixture into even balls, then roll them in the ground almonds.
  5. Put the balls in the fridge to firm up so they get a pleasantly compact texture.
  6. Serve the keto peanut protein balls well chilled as a small snack or after a meal.

Good to know

When I'm short on time, I especially like little fridge snacks like these. The balls are uncomplicated, pleasantly nutty and made with hardly any effort.

Swaps

Peanut butter → almond butter (usually a little milder in flavour, with vitamin E) | Hemp protein → pumpkin seed protein (plant protein, often a little more savoury) | Almonds → hazelnuts (also contain fibre and unsaturated fats) | Water → unsweetened coconut milk (a little creamier, with its natural fat content)

Allergens

Contains peanuts and tree nuts (almonds). Only suitable for small children with care because of the shape and texture, and during pregnancy the ingredients are usually fine in normal kitchen amounts, unless you're allergic to them.
