  2. Heat a wide frying pan and fry the beef mince over a high heat until crumbly and well browned. Add a little olive oil if needed.
  3. Add the onion, garlic and chilli to the beef mince and fry briefly until fragrant and the onion turns slightly translucent.
  4. Add the okra, pour in the beef stock and simmer over a medium heat until the okra is cooked and the liquid has reduced a little.
  5. Season the pan to taste with salt and pepper and give everything another good stir.
  6. Serve the keto okra pan hot, straight from the pan or in deep plates.

Good to know

Hearty, spicy and quick to make. A pan dish like this is just right when you want something simple that still tastes like a proper meal.

Swaps

Beef mince → lamb mince (also provides iron, stronger flavour); okra → courgette (milder, juicier and also low in carbs); beef stock → beef bone broth (naturally gelatine-rich, contains minerals); onion → leek (milder, also provides fibre).

Allergens

Naturally free from gluten and dairy, as long as you choose a suitable stock. Onion, garlic and chilli can be adjusted for children, sensitive eaters or in pregnancy, depending on what suits them. In pregnancy, cook the beef mince right through.
