Cook the spelt pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain.
Peel the onion and garlic and dice both finely.
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and soften the onion and garlic briefly. Add the beef mince and fry until crumbly.
Add the tomatoes and season with oregano and salt. Leave the sauce to simmer gently for a few minutes.
Fold the cooked spelt pasta into the sauce and mix thoroughly until the pasta is evenly coated.
Serve the spelt pasta hot, straight from the pan.
Good to know
A meal like this simply leaves you satisfied and content. Hearty, simple and just right when you want something down-to-earth on your plate.
Swaps
Spelt pasta → wholemeal spelt pasta (more fibre). Beef mince → lean beef mince (less fat, similar protein). Tinned tomatoes → organic chopped tomatoes in a jar (often without additives). Olive oil → ghee (stable at high heat, fuller flavour).
Allergens
Contains gluten from the spelt. Usually suitable for children if seasoned mildly and the mince is cooked all the way through – which is also important during pregnancy.
