Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: microwave · saucepan · chopping board · knife · mixing bowl

  1. Put the low-fat quark in a deep bowl and stir it vigorously with a little water until creamy.
  2. Defrost the frozen mixed berries in the microwave or in a small pan until they're hot and releasing plenty of juice.
  3. Roughly chop the almonds on a board so you get pieces of different sizes.
  4. Pour the hot berries and their juice over the smooth quark.
  5. Scatter over the chopped almonds, drizzle the bowl with the honey and eat it straight away.

Good to know

This bowl is a reliable classic for training days. The contrast between the cold quark and the hot fruit is fantastic.

Swaps

Honey → maple syrup (if you'd rather not use honey because it comes from bees – otherwise the natural sweetness of the fruit is often enough).

Cooking tips

Always stir the quark with a whisk for a good long while. Only vigorous whisking makes its crumbly texture really smooth.

Storage

Low-fat quark releases water in the fridge and loses its creamy texture. Always stir this quick bowl together just before eating.

Allergens

Contains milk and tree nuts (almonds). Completely gluten-free.
