High-protein oven-baked turkey breast with sweet potato wedges
High-protein oven-baked turkey breast with sweet potato wedges: juicy turkey breast, sweet potatoes, olive oil, oregano and rosemary, all from the oven.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C (180 °C fan) and line a tray with baking paper. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and cut them into thick wedges.
Toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, sea salt and paprika. Spread them out on one half of the tray so they roast evenly.
Pat the turkey breast dry and rub with olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Place it on the free half of the tray and add the fresh thyme or rosemary.
Cook everything at 200 °C for 20–25 min, until the sweet potatoes are soft and browned at the edges. Turn the meat halfway through and toss the wedges once.
Take the turkey breast out of the oven, leave it to rest briefly, then slice. That way more juice stays in the meat when you cut it.
Arrange with the sweet potato wedges and serve with a green salad if you like. Add a little more fresh pepper or a few herbs on top, if you fancy.
Good to know
An oven dish like this takes the pressure off. Everything goes on one tray, turns full of flavour on the outside and stays nice and juicy inside.
Swaps
Turkey breast/chicken breast → salmon fillet (more omega-3 fatty acids, juicy from the oven)
Sweet potatoes → Hokkaido squash (works just as well in the oven)
Extra virgin olive oil → avocado oil (heat-stable, mild flavour)
Garlic powder → fresh garlic (less processed, stronger flavour)
Allergens
The recipe is naturally free from gluten, egg and milk; choose pure spices without additives, season more mildly for children and, in pregnancy, cook the poultry right through.

With a sensitive stomach or IBS, garlic and strong spices can cause symptoms in some people.
Do the herbs and paprika contain relevant micronutrients?
They provide small amounts of minerals and plant compounds, but in this dish they contribute more to flavour than to nutrients. Here they're rubbed onto the turkey and tossed with the wedges.
