Good to know

Gingerbread you can drink: skyr, pear and banana form the base, and gingerbread spice and two dates turn it into a winter smoothie. A spoonful of oats makes it thicker.

Swaps

Skyr → low-fat quark. Milk → oat milk (less protein). Dates → 1 tsp honey (not for babies under one year old). Pear → apple.

Cooking tips

A pear that gives a little when pressed makes the smoothie sweeter. With frozen banana, it turns cold and thick like a shake.

Storage

Best drunk fresh; in a sealed jar it keeps for 1 day in the fridge.

Allergens

Contains milk and gluten (oats); no egg or nuts. Suitable for children and in pregnancy.
