High-protein cinnamon roll porridge made with oats and milk, with a cinnamon and date swirl, skyr frosting and toasted walnuts. A breakfast with 30 g of protein, ready in 20 minutes.
You’ll need: frying pan · saucepan · chopping board · knife · wooden spoon
Tastes like a cinnamon roll but is ready in 20 minutes. You swirl the cinnamon and date paste through the hot porridge, and a skyr frosting goes on top. That's how an Advent Sunday starts without any yeast dough.
Skyr → low-fat quark (similar protein content). Milk → oat milk (gives less protein). Dates → 1 tbsp maple syrup in the cinnamon paste. Walnuts → pecans.
Jumbo oats give more bite but need 2 minutes longer. Only stir the frosting together just before serving, otherwise the skyr releases water.
Keep the porridge and frosting separately in the fridge for 2 days; reheat the porridge with a little milk.
Contains milk, gluten (oats) unless labelled gluten-free, and tree nuts (walnuts); no egg. Made with gluten-free oats, it's suitable for people with coeliac disease. Suitable for children and in pregnancy.
