Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: chopping board · knife · mixing bowl

  1. Peel the banana and slice it or mash it finely with a fork.
  2. Stir the low-fat quark with a splash of milk in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Fold the banana into the quark and stir in the honey.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a bowl and sprinkle with bitter cacao nibs.
  5. Leave to stand briefly so the flavours come together.

Good to know

When things need to be quick, this bowl is my honest favourite. Creamy, lightly sweet and with a fine crunch – without much effort.

Swaps

Low-fat quark → skyr (similar protein content, slightly milder in flavour); milk → unsweetened kefir (also contains natural fermentation cultures); honey → date paste (provides more fibre); cacao nibs → chopped walnuts (more unsaturated fats and a little softer to bite)

Allergens

Contains milk. Cacao nibs are usually fine, but only give them to younger children with care because of the hard pieces; during pregnancy the ingredients are no concern in normal amounts.
