Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife · sieve

  1. Wash the baby spinach thoroughly and drain well. Wash and core the apple and cut it into pieces.
  2. Halve the avocado and scoop out the flesh. Have the lemon juice ready.
  3. Put the baby spinach, apple, avocado, lemon juice and water in the blender. Start it on a low setting for a moment.
  4. Then blend everything on high until the smoothie is creamy and smooth. If it's too thick for you, add a little water and blend again.
  5. Have a quick taste. If you like it fresher, a small squeeze of lemon juice works well.
  6. Pour into a glass and serve straight away. It tastes especially well rounded when nicely chilled.

Good to know

Sometimes light and fresh is all you want. This smoothie is creamy, gentle and in your glass in no time. Just right when you want something green without much effort.

Swaps

Apple → pear (similarly mild, a little softer in sweetness) | Baby spinach → lamb's lettuce (milder flavour, also contains folate) | Water → coconut water (a few more electrolytes, but also more natural sweetness)

Allergens

The recipe is naturally free from milk, egg and gluten; with a sensitive stomach, large amounts of raw spinach can feel unfamiliar; for children, better in a small portion, and unproblematic during pregnancy with well-washed spinach.
