Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: blender · chopping board · knife

  1. Wash the baby spinach thoroughly. Peel the kiwi, core the apple and cut both into pieces.
  2. Peel the banana and put it in the blender with the baby spinach, kiwi and apple.
  3. Pour in the coconut water and add the lemon juice. If you prefer it a little milder, you can use water instead of coconut water.
  4. Blend everything on high until the smoothie is creamy and fine. If necessary, stop briefly and push the mixture down from the sides.
  5. Blend briefly again if needed, until there are no pieces left.

Good to know

A green smoothie like this is quick to make and tastes surprisingly mild. Fruity, fresh and just right when you want something light in a glass.

Swaps

Kiwi → pineapple (also provides vitamin C and tastes milder). Apple → pear (a little gentler in acidity and also contains fibre). Coconut water → unsweetened almond butter with water (a little creamier and with more fat). Banana → avocado (less sugar, but more unsaturated fatty acids and a thick texture).

Allergens

The recipe is naturally dairy-free, egg-free and gluten-free; kiwi can cause allergic reactions in sensitive people; the smoothie is usually well suited to children, and during pregnancy it's fine with thoroughly washed spinach.
