Ingredients
150g strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 banana
100g low-fat quark
30g gluten-free oats (fine)
200ml milk (or plant milk)
1 tsp honey
1 pinch of cinnamon
Method
You’ll need: blender
Wash and hull the strawberries. If you're using frozen strawberries, you can use them straight away. Break the banana into pieces.
Put the strawberries, banana, low-fat quark, oats, milk, honey and cinnamon in the blender.
Blend everything well until the shake is thick and creamy. If it's too thick for you, add a little more milk.
Taste the shake and adjust if needed. A little more honey or a pinch of vanilla makes it milder and rounder.
For a particularly cold, thick texture, use frozen strawberries or a frozen banana.
Good to know
When things need to be quick, this shake is a really good answer. Creamy, fruity and pleasantly satisfying. It tastes especially good on warm days.
Swaps
Low-fat quark → skyr (similar protein content, often a little milder) | Milk → unsweetened almond milk (thinner, with less sugar) | Honey → date paste (also provides small amounts of fibre) | Oats → gluten-free millet flakes (gluten-free)
Allergens
Contains milk (low-fat quark, and the milk if you use cow's milk). With certified gluten-free oats, the recipe suits many people with gluten intolerance; it usually suits children and is fine during pregnancy with pasteurised dairy products.
