Ingredients
1 handful of mixed berries
50 g gluten-free oats (jumbo)
80 g Greek yoghurt
100 ml cow's milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp honey
Method
You’ll need: meal prep containers
Put the oats and chia seeds in a clean jar or a container with a lid and mix briefly.
Add the milk and Greek yoghurt and stir everything thoroughly until the mixture is evenly moist.
Stir in the honey so the sweetness is evenly spread.
Put the mixed berries on top and close the container.
Leave in the fridge overnight so the oats and chia seeds swell and the texture turns nice and creamy.
Give the overnight oats a quick stir the next morning and serve them cold, straight from the jar.
Good to know
A breakfast like this takes the rush out of your morning. Quickly stirred together in the evening, it's waiting for you creamy and cold in the fridge the next day.
Swaps
Cow's milk → unsweetened almond milk (a little thinner; contains tree nuts) | Greek yoghurt → skyr (more protein) | Honey → mashed banana (sweetened with fruit only) | Mixed berries → diced apple with cinnamon (contains pectin)
Allergens
Contains milk. Oats are only truly gluten-free if they're labelled as such – otherwise they contain gluten. Generally suitable for children and during pregnancy, as long as dairy is fine for you and the ingredients are kept fresh and chilled.
