Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: high-speed blender · chopping board · knife · mixing bowl · grater

  1. Put the mixed berries, frozen banana, vanilla protein powder, linseed and almond milk into a powerful blender.
  2. Start briefly on a low setting, then blend until creamy. Stir with the tamper if needed, or push the mixture down from the sides now and then.
  3. Blend until the mixture is thick and spoonable. It should be more like soft-serve ice cream than a drink.
  4. Spoon the smoothie mixture into a bowl and drizzle the almond butter over it in stripes.
  5. Scatter over the desiccated coconut and flaked almonds. If you like, add a few more berries.
  6. Serve the bowl straight away and eat it with a spoon.

Good to know

This bowl is cold, creamy and satisfying. Just right when you want something fresh that still has substance. And it's ready in a few minutes.

Swaps

Almond milk → unsweetened coconut drink (a little creamier, often slightly milder in flavour); almond butter → cashew butter (similarly creamy, usually a little softer and milder); flaked almonds → walnuts (more omega-3 fatty acids); banana → avocado (less sweet, creamy texture and more monounsaturated fats)

Allergens

Contains tree nuts (almond milk, almond butter, almonds) and, depending on the protein powder, possible traces of soya or gluten. For children, only in a small, age-appropriate portion with finely ground or soft toppings. During pregnancy it's usually fine with a protein powder that agrees with you. If you're pregnant, and for children and older people, boil frozen berries for 2 minutes first and let them cool.
