Method

You’ll need: chopping board · knife · mixing bowl

  1. In the evening, stir the oats, chia seeds, milk, honey and cinnamon together thoroughly in a jar or bowl.
  2. Leave the mixture to stand briefly and stir again so the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
  3. Cover and leave to soak in the fridge for several hours or overnight.
  4. In the morning, check the overnight oats and stir in a little milk to make them creamier if needed.
  5. Wash the berries and roughly chop the walnuts.
  6. To serve, top the overnight oats with the berries and walnuts and eat straight away or take them with you.

Good to know

A breakfast like this takes the rush out of the morning. A quick stir in the evening, and by morning there's something cool and creamy waiting in the fridge.

Swaps

Oat milk → natural yoghurt or kefir (more protein, depending on the product). Walnuts → almonds (more vitamin E). Honey → mashed banana (sweetened with fruit only). Berries → diced apple (a little more pectin).

Allergens

Contains milk protein, depending on the milk you use, and walnuts, a tree nut allergen; oat milk contains gluten unless it's certified gluten-free. Well suited to children – stir the chia seeds in well and serve in an age-appropriate way – and not a concern during pregnancy with hygienically handled ingredients. Contains: tree nuts.
