Cut the chicken breast fillet into even cubes and thread them onto wooden skewers.
Crush the garlic and stir it with the soy sauce, honey and sesame oil into a marinade.
Heat a non-stick frying pan until very hot and fry the chicken skewers until golden brown all over and almost cooked through.
Turn the heat down a little, add the marinade to the pan and turn the skewers in it until the sauce thickens and clings to them in a glossy layer.
Cook a little longer, until the chicken is completely cooked through and the glaze sticks nicely to the skewers.
Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds and spring onion.
Good to know
When you need something quick, these skewers are just right. Savoury, slightly sweet and with that glossy sauce that makes you hungry straight away.
Swaps
Honey → date paste (a little more fibre); sesame oil → olive oil (more monounsaturated fats); soy sauce → tamari (gluten-free, similarly savoury); chicken breast → skinless chicken thighs (usually a bit juicier, a little more iron and zinc).
Allergens
Contains soya and sesame; good for children if the sauce isn't too salty and the skewers are served without the wooden sticks; during pregnancy it's important to cook the chicken through completely. Contains: gluten (soy sauce).
