Ingredients

Method

You’ll need: chopping board · knife

  1. Mix the almond flour, cocoa powder, honey and melted coconut oil into a chocolate dough you can shape.
  2. Divide the dough in two and press the first half out onto baking paper to make an even base.
  3. Stir the quark with the vanilla extract, honey and coconut oil until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the quark cream over the chocolate base and carefully press the second half of the dough on top as a lid.
  5. Chill the mixture until firm, then cut it into even slices.
  6. To serve: let the chocolate quark slices thaw briefly before eating so the filling turns creamier.

Good to know

When you want something chocolatey but not heavy, these slices are just right. Cool, creamy and pleasantly moist. The kind of recipe that waits patiently in the freezer and then disappears fast.

Swaps

Honey → date paste (contains some fibre). Almond flour → ground hazelnuts (contain monounsaturated fatty acids). Quark → skyr (also provides protein). Coconut oil → ghee (buttery flavour, small amounts of fat-soluble vitamins).

Allergens

Contains milk and tree nuts (almonds). Usually fine for children if the cocoa and sweetness fit with the rest of what they eat – no honey for babies under one year old. Generally fine in pregnancy as long as all dairy products are fresh and properly chilled.
