Apple and cinnamon baked oats
Apple and cinnamon baked oats with oats, banana, apple and linseed: a warm breakfast from the oven with natural sweetness, a moist texture and a gentle hint of cinnamon.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C fan) and, if needed, lightly grease a small baking dish with a little olive oil.
Mix the oats and linseed in a bowl. Mash the banana separately until smooth.
Stir the mashed banana, almond milk and cinnamon into the oats until evenly combined.
Core the apples, cut them into pieces and fold them in or press them lightly into the mixture. Put everything in the dish and smooth the top.
Bake the baked oats at 180 °C for 25–30 minutes, until the top is lightly golden brown and the middle looks just set.
Let it cool briefly and serve warm. A little natural yoghurt or a spoonful of almond butter goes well with it.
Good to know
When your morning smells of warm apple and cinnamon, even a grey day feels a little friendlier. This oven breakfast is simple, soft and pleasantly filling.
Swaps
Almond milk → unsweetened oat milk (a few more carbs and often a creamier texture); banana → apple purée made from fruit only (milder sweetness, similarly moist); linseed → chia seeds (also contain fibre, different texture); apple → pear (similarly mild, a little softer after baking).
Allergens
Only safely gluten-free if you use certified gluten-free oats. Almonds are an allergen. Usually fine for children thanks to the soft texture, and the ingredients are normal and unremarkable during pregnancy.
